Create Anchor Links in Divi

By George Nicolaou

An anchor link takes visitors directly to a section of a page. It is useful for a long service page, a contents list or a menu that points to a contact section.

Give the destination a unique ID

In the destination section’s advanced attributes, set a CSS ID such as contact. Enter the ID without the hash and use it only once on that page.

Link to the destination

For a link on the same page, use #contact. From another page, use the destination’s full address followed by #contact. A homepage-only anchor may fail when the menu is used on an inner page.

Test the landing position

Check that a sticky header does not cover the section heading. Test the mobile menu and keyboard navigation, and make sure the destination is still meaningful without a smooth-scroll animation.

See Elegant Themes’ anchor-link guide for the current interface. The video below shows the editing process in an earlier Divi version.
