Reduce Divi Accordion Animation: Earlier Workaround

By George Nicolaou

An accordion should reveal information clearly. A lengthy transition can become distracting, especially when visitors are trying to scan several answers.

Check current controls first

Inspect the installed accordion module’s animation and interaction options. This video demonstrates an earlier workaround, so its script assumptions may not apply to a newer Divi release or third-party module.

Keep behaviour accessible

Test keyboard activation, visible focus and whether the expanded state is communicated correctly. Removing a visual effect must not stop the panel opening or leave its content unavailable.

Test the whole page

Check several accordions, mobile navigation and any other interactive modules. Scope custom changes narrowly and respect reduced-motion preferences where possible. Use the simplest supported setting that achieves a comfortable experience rather than replacing global animation functions.
